| Q. Is the Testing Process Accurate? |
A. Yes, when done properly. It is important for a company to have trained and certified technicians who are qualified to conduct drug and alcohol testing. Each technician should follow consistent D.O.T. protocol when administering a drug or alcohol test for an employee. It is important for a company to have a two (2) step testing process. When drug testing, the first step of the analysis is the initial screening process or the immunoassay testing. If the initial test shows a Positive, the specimen would then be forwarded to confirmation testing. Generally, this process is a Chromatography technique type testing such as Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (GCI MS). This process is 100% scientifically accurate and must match like a fingerprint to the make-up the illegal drug. Only it both initial and confirmation tests show positive would the results be considered as Positive. |
